The original Cameri Theatre production of Visiting Mr. Green was the longest running play in Israeli history, with over 500 performances throughout the country from 2001-2006. It won Best Play and Best Actor (Yossi Graber) at the Israeli Theatre Awards. It was directed by Alon Ophir, with a translation by Ido Ricklin, and set and costumes by Eric Smith. A special shortened school version of Visiting Mr. Green returned to Israel in 2015 in the Nephesh Theatre production called Mr. Green and Me, which toured schools throughout the country. It starred Albert Cohen as Mr. Green, and either Shoham Sheiner or Nadav Laor as Ross, and was translated by Beatriz Hal and directed by Howard Rypp. Albert Cohen won the ASSITEJ Best Actor Award. |

On February 15, 2018, the new Beit Lessin Theatre production of Mr. Green opened in Tel Aviv. Starring Gadi Yagil as Mr. Green and Ido Rozenberg as Ross Gardiner, it was directed by Nathan Datner from a translation by Ido Ricklin.
